Hello! My husband and I are doing a little scouting trip to Ajijic in September. Looking for suggestions on where to stay. Other suggestions welcome, too!

Hi, I'm Bel, the Mexico Correspondent and this is great timing. I was just speaking to someone from Chapala last week who was telling me about the amazing old Franciscan Chapel in Ajijic that is beautiful and the young man from Ajijic who came back to perform with the 48 piece orchestra - he's studying at Julliard in New York - so there's some lovely culture in the area.
But to answer your question, I'm not sure of your length of stay, budget, or preference of hotel, AirBnB or apartment so I did a quick search and here's a nice mix of all of the above for you to have a look at and see if anything takes your fancy.
It's right next to (3miles) from Chapala so there's plenty to do and see and if you may find something cheaper in Chapala if you don't like anything in Ajijic.
    Hope this helps. Cheers, Bel.

Hi, Bel! Thanks for the reply. We will only be there 4 nights. We like small hotels - with a delicious Mexican breakfast and would like to be able to walk to city center. I was just looking at the list on Booking.com right before I found your reply. I never know whether to trust those reviews!

    Hi there KG6003,
If you like small restaurants with a great breakfast, I'd recommend Hotel La Nueva Posada, walking distance from the main plaza in Ajijic. It's a beautiful, peaceful little place, reasonably priced, swimming pool, gardens overlooking Lake Chapala, and the excellent breakfast is included in the room price. Ph from US: 52 376 766 1344. We'll be in Ajijic in September too. Happy travels!
    Julia M.

If you haven't already booked, check out La Posada Nueva.
