Investing in Thailand’s eastern seaboard has helped expat Bart Walters fund
his retirement... and enjoy a good life for less. Thailand is full of picturesque
beaches, bustling cities, and ancient temples. Now, new infrastructure along
the country’s eastern seaboard promises to connect and open up that part of
the country to its bigger cities. Progress is afoot, yet the values today are still
extraordinary: A big two-bedroom sea view condo for around $125,000.
Rentals in some older buildings start at $300 a month with a pool and sea
view.Bart Walters has spent the last 25 years exploring Thailand as an expat. In
IL’s latest community workshop, Bart explains what daily life is like there,
how investing ahead of the crowds has helped fund his overseas adventure,
and what you need to know if you’re interested in following his footsteps. Join
host Dan Prescher, IL Senior Editor, for a lively discussion and open Q&A!Check out Bart's story in the November issue of International Living here: https://magazine.internationalliving.com/internationalliving/library/item/november_2024/4229228/

I am in Australia, so this time is difficult, I am wondering if I can get a recording, or you can do another of these, within Asia timezone?
-
I've heard that Thailand recently passed a new tax law. Anyone in the country for 180 days must pay taxes on their worldwide income. How does this impact those of us contemplating retirement in Thailand? Also, is it possible to retain a US corp and continue to work in that business while in retirement in Thailand?

IL you seem to concentrate most, if not all of your feeds, doco's etc on your US based audience, this is not a patriotic slant in any way, merely an observation?
I also realize that it is impossible for IL to cater for all timezones on every continent but maybe IL can explore where most of your subscriber base is and cater appropriately or do you do this already? As I also accept that the US has close to 15x the population of Oz - I would be interested in your reply as aforementioned comment has also lamented the fact that we in Oz cop a lot of stuff in the wee hours of the morning? Thanks in advance for your reply -
Hi there, the recording will be at the top of the page for you to access as you wish post event.

Hi there, thanks for your comment and feedback. Lynn here from IL. And yes, that's correct, we base on event times on where we have the most subscribers.
But we will be leaving a recording at the top of this page for you to access as you wish. I hope that helps.
