The Best Regions in the World for Retirement 2025

A very worthshile webinar for anyone interested in living elsewhere. I have visited all of these countries and each has much to add to living a fabulous life. It just boils down to one's preference for weather, adventure, culture, accessability, and the food. The people in all these locales are welcoming and helpful.
I don't have a spcecific question, but want to provide positive encouragement for anyone willing to look beyond the shores of one's home country. -
Hi Jill, I have always lived in the tropics so hurricanes are a part of life. Yes the do happen but in 8years living in the Mexican Caribbean we have had 2 that caused a little damage, not huge ones that devestate the entire island or anything. As for Puerto Vallarta, I've never been but have spoken to people living there. Very similar weather, but our water is prettier and yes hurricanes do happen over on the west coast as well. So if you're considering these locations please don't be put off, they are built for it. The houses are sturdy and able to hndle it.
Cheers, Bel. -
I'm not seeing the presentation (10:23 AM MT, 1/13/25). What's happening?

As part of the visa expats need to carry private health insurance because it's affordable. We also have access to the public system but most expats, including myself prefer to go private where wait times are less and most doctors speak English.

Hello,
The real estate market in Nice is a bit tighter than other cities but not impossible to rent. If you rent in the historic center, you can expect a starting rent of $1600 for a 2-bedroom if not slightly more. The figures can go up quite a bit the closer you get to the seaside. Many look to go a bit further out of the center and take the tram or bus in to town. It's a wonderful city!

Is there any ballroom dancing in Cozumel?
-
Yes, search Facebook groups like Long Term Rentals in Portugal and others or reach out to expats on these groups to see if they know someone who has a rental.
-
You might have a look in the IL bookstore to see about scouting trip publications.

In Portugal you will be taxed so you should reach out to a tax expert.
-
Can you speak about Boquete (more temperate climate). . . . . looking to escape the heat
-
I will be out all day and unable to attend this excellent workshop. Can you please send me a recording. Thank you in advance for considering my request. Paula pbiwer@yahoo.com
Here is my question: can you suggest one or two American Expat friendship groups, and Lisboa? -
I've never been asked that before and honestly I've never looked. There is plenty of salsa and places to go dancing and dance studios offering all styles of dance so if you love dancing you'll be able to find something.

for Portugal I'd suggest plan and trip and look around since only you can decide where you want to live. Train travel is affordable throughout the country and there are buses and uber. Do keep in mind that all of the country is cobblestoned which can be dangerous as we age.
