International Living Community

One of the best things for me about moving to France, Portugal, Spain or Montenegro is going car free. I have previously lived in the UK, Europe, Latin American and Asia and never owned a car in those years. So I don't want a place where I need a car, but I don't want a huge city with the expense, noise, etc. So what are the best car free places in those areas?

Other than Montenegro, not much info on Eastern Europe such as Slovenia, Albanian, Romania - all the "ia's" Lol. Would love to hear more about infrastructure and regulations for living there and taxation.

Related to the question by WINTERSVIC, I don't want to sell everything in order to move to Europe as I am a collector, but since I will need to start by renting before buying a place, are there storage rental units in Europe like there are in the US?

LOL, my Italian friend who lives in Rome and I have been talking about doing this since were were in our twenties in case we never got married and now we are scouting outside of Italy. We are in our 50's if you want to connect send your email...

I would love information on mid-size towns in France, not big towns or cities that have an urban lifestyle and accessible to a train station and/or airport.
