Thank you for your report. I'm still reading it, but wanted to let you know that I'm enjoying it. I visited Costa Rica (solo) in 2011, but didn't see much in my opinion. I plan to go back next April.

Personally, I don't have any experience in this area. It does seem like dementia is a growing concern in the country. I would try contacting people here to look for more info: https://findahelpline.com/countries/cr/topics/dementia-alzheimers https://www.alzint.org/member/asociacion-costarricense-de-alzheimer-y-otras-demencias-asociadas-ascada/ a nursing home: https://nursinghomescostarica.com/ & https://verdeza.com/ Good luck and let me know if you have any other questions.

We used StartAbroad. Zach is excellent and we highly recommend him as well as the people who have helped us once we landed in Costa Rica.

I am in Guanacaste. Let me know if you are in my area and we can try to meet up. I also suggest joining Facebook pages in the areas you are interested in to get more info and connect with people. And hopefully people here will comment and share their experiences in CR.

Is it required to buy the CDW insurance they tell you That You HAVE to purcahse at the car renatl place? And if so Which insurance is best? I was there in December for 3 weeks and my car rental was only around $400 but with the ins. it was another $30 a day so another $630. They told me at the counter it is mandatory? Thank you.

I just saw this post here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/810076836099323/?hoisted_section_header_type=recently_seen&multi_permalinks=2123235051450155 --Franky Franky Hello Community We have to leave Costa Rica end of may. Now we‘re looking for someone for our dog because we can‘t take her with us. She is a 4,5years old German Shepherd Mix, a really good guard (without barking all the time),shy and well behaved. Most of the time she is ok with other dogs/cats and she knows kids. Maybe we find a person who will give her a home for about 3 weeks end of may/june? I said I just heard of someone interested... you should go comment there if interested.

Hi! I just sent you a message on Whatsapp. I saw your reply above and your offer to help the poster with the Tamarindo area. My wife and I will be in Tamarindo in early March and I was hoping that your kind offer might extend to us as well. We will be meeting our daughter for her spring break from college so we won't have a lot of time, but I would like to take advantage of being there to investigate real estate opportunities in the area. This is the first time I have used the IL community forum and I'm not sure I could get back to it...not the most tech savy person on the planet If you would be so kind as to respond in WhatsApp that would be wonderful. Thank You!

Hi Bekah, Thank you for your reply and the links. We currently own a lake front home in North Florida and are looking to duplicate this in Costa Rica. A condo with nice amenities may be a good choice however we are open. Lake Arenal looks very nice but a smaller lake may be a better option IF actual lakefront property is available at a reasonable cost. There is an almost overwhelming amount of listings on the net for Lake Arenal but seemingly nothing on "other" lakes. We would be selling our home here and likely buying but would like to keep a purchase at or below 300k. We will be at Playa Flamingo in June for several days of world class fishing and some exploring. You can contact me separately at JDStansberry@aol.com if that is more appropriate. Thank you again for your reply! Best, John

There are a lot of businesses where people help you relocate, yet I don't have someone in perticular I can recommend. Have you done research on Costa Rica to see which areas could be the best fit. https://internationalliving.com/countries/costa-rica/maps-of-costa-rica/ https://internationalliving.com/countries/costa-rica/ https://internationalliving.com/best-places-to-live-in-costa-rica-five-top-expat-havens/ You may want to look into the online version (which would be cheaper) of the conference. It is a good way to get lots of info and start to figure out if Costa Rica is right for you. Are you looking for a rental or to purchase a property? I know some real estate agents I could recommend depending on the area you are interested in. Feel free to give me some more details into what you are looking for by sending an email and I can try helping you more. bbottone@internationalliving.com Bekah Bottone, IL Correspondent in Costa Rica
