Global Retirement Index 2025

I think the GRI is a great tool, however, another area I believe that should be measured is taxation. Every country has different tax rules, and taxes is part of the calculus I figure in when deciding what country. Example: Germany will not tax my military retirement, only Social Security; where as Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, and Greece tax all worldwide income. Understanding how a person will be taxed should not come as a surprise during tax season, and again I believe should be a considered category.
