This is a question specifically for Cepee Tabibian. I, too, live in the Austin area. Which virtual mail service did you choose, and why?

Cepee hasn't responded, but I'd guess she's using this service, https://www.anytimemailbox.com/, because they specifically list Austin as an option for mailbox addresses. However, this article gives it a poor review:

Global Mail gets great reviews, but the pricing is a bit high. There is a per-page charge for content scans, for example. Based on the reviews, I'm going to give Physical Address a try. They have addresses in Dallas. That'll do for me. I've sent them some questions based on their website. I'll update with the information I find.

Hi Tony! Just now seeing your question. I use https://secure.scanmailboxes.com/. When I moved to Spain in 2015 they were the only virtual mailbox I could find in Austin at the time. I've been with them almost 10 years now and I'm very happy with their service. If you have any questions about them just let me know.

We moved to Barcelona from Dallas in December 2023 and use ipostal1.com through our local Eagle Postal . We have been very happy with their service: prompt, accurate and reasonable. I cant recall having any issues using the address for anything because it is a real physical address.

planning to visit canada for 6-12 mos from US, and will research which countries we want to retire in, if we decide not to return to US. Confused about health insurance... was told we need a physical address outside of the US & Canada to get insured. Does anyone have similar ecperience and advice?

Hi! Just to clarify, are you inquiring about private health insurance for Spain?

I have used YourBestAddress for several years now. They are in South Dakota. They will hold your mail till you tell them to ship it; or you can upgrade (not expensive) to a scan / shred service. www.yourbestaddress.com. Their customer service is outstanding. If you need to retain US citizenship in a non-income-tax US state, they can help with that for SD. Usually, my mailbox is a sufficient address for businesses i deal with , but some banks don't like it--they flag it as a mailbox--so when i opened a new credit card, YourBestAddress offered the use of a residential address for me to use for that single purpose.
