I'm open to living pretty much anywhere but Europe has the benefit of being close to family. So Portugal and Spain are of particular interest. Also looking at the Far East: Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand. Anyone with first hand experience in any of these places?

Hi there - I live in Malaysia and have done so for the past 15 years - and i love it! I've also visited the other places that you mention for both work and pleasure. What specifically do you want to know?

    Hi!
I'm curious what you love most about living in Malaysia?
My husband and I are very interested in retiring somewhere permanently, allowing our money to go further than what America's economy will get us.
Can you live indefinitely there? It seems many places (countries) allow only a year or you have to leave for 3 months... Do you have insight with that that you can share?

What about monsoon season or typhoon's? Have you experienced this?

May I also ask, how are taxes or condo fees or any other cost information.

Are there any negatives that people don't think about that you could share?

Many thanks for sharing your experiences.
