    Both my parents were Panamanian natives - I left Panama in 1959 when 5 years old because my mother married a USA service member. I was naturalized an American citizen in 1986. Looking to live in Panama 5 to 6 months of the year but not sure what the process is for me to establish myself as a Panamanian citizen again. I have a copy of a birth certificate with a cedula number on it. Willing to pay for the process/guidance to point me in the right direction.

      Hi Roberto, if you were born in Panama you have an inalienable right to Panamanian citizenship, and I believe the same is true if your parents were Panamanian but you were born elsewhere. I don't believe the paperwork is overly complicated. Contact a Panama-based attorney that's well-versed in immigration matters, here's the contact information for the attorney that speaks at International Living's annual Fast Track Panama seminar in Panama City every year:

        Hi Roberto, if you were born in Panama you have an inalienable right to Panamanian citizenship, and I believe the same is true if your parents were Panamanian but you were born elsewhere. I don't believe the paperwork is overly complicated.
