re: starlink whilei was therei was on starlink and found that in the afternoon when the rain came, the connection was quite slow or non existent do you think that was an unusual experience or is that typical in the rainy season?

Panama’s little-known Azuero Peninsula could well be the next "Blue Zone." It's attracting wellness-minded folks interested in living at the beach—below the hurricane zone—and ready to slow down and embrace a healthy life with strong community, fresh food, yoga, pickleball, surfing, fishing, and all-around easy living in the sun.
IL’s Panama editor and expert, Jess Ramesch, will get together with four expats who live on Panama's Azuero Peninsula, for a workshop with live Q&A. You'll hear from expats Kerri Lusk Barnes and Abbe Drossner in Pedasi, and expats Kimber Hardick and Terry Moe in and around Venao. Join host Jennifer Stevens, IL Executive Editor, for a lively discussion—and bring your questions!

I visited this area in 2021 and LOVED it!! However, it didn;t seem to be a viable remote work location for me due to power outages and Internet fluctuations. Are things getting better now?

Are there any other sports activities like golf, tennis, socccer. I also play the guitar and would like to start a band playing 60s - 80s songs. Any potential for that?
As mentioned surfing, yoga, and juijitsu are among the most popular, and I know there's pickleball and probably padel too. There's only one small golf course up in Chitré so this may not be the best locale for golf but soccer for sure and generally there's tennis all over Panama so I'm sure you'd have takers.

re: starlink whilei was therei was on starlink and found that in the afternoon when the rain came, the connection was quite slow or non existent do you think that was an unusual experience or is that typical in the rainy season?
I'd say it's typical during storms but not light rains.

I believe so, charities especially - you should be able to find out tons more from local groups like the Pedasí Post on Facebook.

Yes there are local banks and you can also use ATMs to withdraw USD from your accounts in other countries but for most residents openig a local account makes life here even more convenient.

What ws the situation with deliveries (produce) during the roadblocks last year?
We asked frequent IL contributor and Pedasí resident Jim Gault who advised that there was actually relatively little disruption in Pedasí compared to other parts of Panama - which makes sense as Pedasí is in many ways less reliant on the PanAmerican Highway where the worst blockages were.
