Volunteer while on extended vacation

What is a good resource to find volunteer opportunities around the Placencia and Hopkins area? My husband & I are going on an extended vacation and would like to volunteer part of the time while we are in those areas.

Placencia runs on Facebook. Need to know if a specific restaurant is open tonight, look on Facebook. Want to know what tour operators of going to Silk Caye tomorrow, look on Facebook. Your best bet for finding some volunteer opportunities would be post to one, or both, of these Facebook groups:

Look for, and join, the "Placencia News & Happenings" group on Facebook. Volunteer opportunities get posted there. There is probably a similar group for Hopkins as well. Other options you could consider contacting directing are: Placencia Humane Society and Placencia Rotary. You should be able to contact both through Facebook.
