How long is this workshop?

Hi everyone. My husband and I are traveling to Costa Rica in July for an International Living conference. Any suggestions on airline travel leaving from the Washington DC-Baltimore area? Seems like direct flights leave at 1 am and the nondirect/layover ones go to the West Coast with very long layovers....suggestions would be most welcome!

Has anyone brought pets to Costa Rica from the U.S.? Is there any problem with the wildlife (e.g., monkeys) in certain sections? Are there areas where we would be safer with them? Thanks!!
