Recommendations for first time travelers

We have heard that Portugal is a country well worth visiting. So, my wife and I have planned a trip in June 2025. Our current itinerary has us doing weekly visits to various parts of the country (Lisbon, Porto, and the Algarve). We are looking for recommendations (especially for what to avoid) for: best travel insurance, train transportation (local and long-distance-e.g., Lisbon to Porto), cab/taxi transportation, and any further information to help us make good decisions and to have a safe, enjoyable visit. I also have a mobility disability that places limitations/challenges on long walks and steep climbs up and down hills. A speedy response is most welcome. Thanks
